Synchronizing contacts in different instances of Outlook

I have a small home network with two (!) computers on it,
both with Outlook XP. One computer is a laptop.
I also have a Bluetooth phone.
I can sync Contacts fine between the phone and the laptop
over Bluetooth.
However, I can't find a way to sync the two instances of
Outlook between my computer and my laptop.
Surely this should be as simple as syncing the phone and
the one instance of Outlook?
I've played around with public folders, etc., but havn't
got this to work and anyway it doesn't seem the right
procedure.
Anyone got a solution?

Public Folders? How could you have played around with Public Folders? I
would assume you aren't running against Exchanges Server, are you?
Assuming you are in fact, using a local information store (Personal Folders
File), look over some options here:
