Synchronize Quickbooks to Contacts

I am using Windows XP Pro and Office XP Pro. I recently
tried to synchronize my Quickbooks 2003 Customer List
with Outlook Contacts. When the Synchronization is
complete, I get the following error from the
Quickbooks. "Unable to create an Outlook or MS Exchange
record. Lack of network access to MS Exchange Server can
cause this problem." Can anyone tell me how to correct
this problem? Many Thanks.
 
The first step is probably to ask the folks at Quickbooks what the Outlook configuration requirements are and whether it works with non-Exchange profiles.
