My law firm is considering purchasing Access to help with our mailings.
However, I'm wondering about the cooperation between Access and Outlook. If
someone updates a contact in Outlook, will it also update the listing in
Access? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Sure you can. Simply link your Outlook address book as a table. That way
your data will always be up-to-date with your Outlook.

Hope this helps!
Stacy

Thank you! So each attorney would have to link their address book as a table
and then Access would always be updated?

Up to a point. If attorneys are maintaining their own address books as
Outlook Contacts folders, it's dollars to doughnuts that there will be a
large proportion of duplicate and inconsistent address book entries.

One person will have an entry for
J.G. Doe
Sue, Grabbit & Runne
12345 Acacia Avenue, Suite 987
Anytown, ST 34567
Another will have
John G Doe
Sue, Grabbit and Runne
12345 Acacia Ave #987
Anytown ST 34567-8901
and Outlook (a) can't tell that these are the same person, (b) doesn't
provide an effective way of "merging" or reconciling the two, and (c)
can't stop the same thing happening again.

This is true. However, if the attorneys' mailing are done seperately anyway,
then it may not matter much.

Good luck!
