Does any know of a tool or add-in that will allow us to synchronize the
contact data in our Exchange public folder with an externally hosted SQL
database? The data formats are NOT the same so field mapping of some sort
would be needed.

And if you don't want to worry about synchronization but instead have
the Outlook information actually stored in a real SQL database then
check out http://www.tabtag.com

Are you associated with TabTag?? I've sent two emails to the support
address asking questions about the product and neither one has been
answered. Does it require an intermediate database?? We have a SQL
server license but migrating from Exchange to SQL server would be a
larger project than we're ready for. Plus, we don't really have any
storage issues since we aren't managing huge record numbers (maybe 4000
in our contacts).

I just need to figure out a way to synch our Exchange contacts with our
web stored SQL Server contacts.

Hello Tom,

Yes, I'm associated with TabTag and I'm not sure why your emails have not
been answered.

Please email (e-mail address removed) with specific questions.

TabTag can use either MSDE or a full SQL Server. If you already have SQL
Server then you just need to download the client from
http://www.tabtag.com/download

The first time you load TabTag into Outlook, it will prompt you to create
the database schema (into either a new database or an existing database).

If you load the TabTag schema into an existing database then all you need to
do is to create a couple of triggers on your tables to sync the TabTag
schema with yours.

Hope this helps.
