Synch differences Outlook XP/Outlook 2003

I have an old desktop @ home that can't handle Office XP so it still has Outlook XP. My work machine is a laptop that can handle Oulook 2003. When synching to the same exchange account (Exchange 2000) offline results don't match (the Outlook XP machine has additinal messages compared to the Outlook 2003 machine) - is this to do with unicode mode differences? If so how can I fix that

Thanks in anticipation

Rob

It shouldn't be. Are the additional messages still in the Exchange mailbox?
You can use OWA to verify this. It could be possible that a bad synch didn't
delete those files. You can try a resynch on both machines by deleting the
ost-file (or rename it to *.old so you can restore it) when Outlook is
closed. Check and see if the message count is correct now.

Thx Road

Mmmm tried the resynch when this happened in the past - but synching 240Mb *.ost over a 56k dialup is not fun! When on-line both machines show the same messages in the same states. I didn't say before but some of the messages on the OL XP machine show some messages as unread when I have marked as "read" on-line and offline on the OL 2003 machine

May have to resort to the 3 day resynch! Or better still buy a decent home machine (now that sounds the right solution! - got some $ for me? - our South African Rands don't go too far!

Regard

Well if it doesn't give you any problems at the moment I wouldn even
consider synching over dialup and just leave it this way.
