I am migrating ASP pages from an XP laptop to a Vista Business laptop running
IIS 7.0. The ASP pages query a MS Access database. Everything is on the local
machine, althoug the page is pulling data from another site (Google Adsense).
When I attempt to load an ASP page, it hangs for at least 60 seconds, and
then I get an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." I ask Vista to
diagnose the connection problem, and it says
"The following policy might need to be adjusted to allows Windows to connect:
Policy Provider:
Filter Name: SymNetDrv Firewall Filter INBOUND_TRANSPORT_V6"
Turning off Norton Security's Firewall did not help. I'd like keep it unless
dumping it is the only solution.
I can't tell if ASP is making the connection to the database, although I
noticed that the page partially loads sometimes, though the partial load does
not have any data from the DB. I've checked the IIS log and I don't see
anything obvious to explain the problem.
Please help. I'd like to get this site running as smoothly on Vista box as
it did on XP.
