Symbol sets

Would it be correct to say that the use of either Windows
XP home or Pro would not affect whether a user can access
certain types of symbol sets. Am I right in my thinking
that this would be wholly dependant on the fonts
installed?

A client of mine is in the thinking that if his PC had be
supplied with XP pro rather than Home Edition, he would
be able to access more scientific and mathematical
symbols. I think he just needs some more fonts.

Any advice welcomed - thanks!

Hi,

AFAIK, fonts available is independent of the version installed.

MS WORD has an equation editor that makes writing math
expression easy.

Thanks, I've found that now - but I had to uninstall and
then reinstall it before I could find it listed in the
new objects list (strange?!).

Anyway I shall now report back to my client with this
info and hopefully this will sort him out.

Thanks.

Hi,

Not unusual, it is not part of a default install. And, actually, it can
usually be added as "install on first use" by doing running the CD and using
the add/remove section.
