Symantec scans messages on exit when no mail was sent

I noticed recently when I exit Outlook a Symantec window pops up near
the task bar indicating that a 'sent' message is being scanned. The
problem is I did not send any outbound email. The last time I saw this
Symantec window I pulled the network cable out of the computer before
the message could be sent. Another window appeared saying that I lost
my network connection and my email to (e-mail address removed) was not sent.
There are never any messages in my sent mail or draft folders. It
appears that this is some form of a mail virus but the computer scans
clean with both Symantec and Trend Micro's Office Scan. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,
Joe

I have not tried any of the online scanners. I figured I was covered
pretty well with two local scanners. I'll give the online scan a try,
maybe it will turn up something.

are you using local scanners with updated definitions? if so, try an online
scanner.
