Symantec Not a Wise Choice of Anti-Virus Products

Are they saying that a fix or patch is currently being propagated via
live update?

Would be interesting to know if legacy products (that somehow haven't
been expired) like NAV 2002 will be on the receiving end of a fix or
patch. -?

It's not quite true that they haven't "been expired". It is
true that you can run them and you can get updates.
And....Symantec will be happy to take your money for
subscription renewals for the updates. BUT - if you attempt
to get any kind of tech support, even over the web, you will
be told the product is no longer supported and there really
is no way to get help.

One may never want Symantec's help :-) - but the older
versions do have this limitation, even if they still run.

I don't think this is a fair comment. Well... the subject line that
is. You will see from www.rem0te.com that most of the 'big boys' were
also vulnerable to a similar bug in their products.

Which goes to show... Any product can have a problem. :)

I found a problem with Bughunter too, so I can't laugh too much about
this. :(
for shame. It's been fixed.. but, a bug is a bug. lol.

Yes any product can have bugs, vulnerabilities, exploits..what have you. The
more widely used and the more popular a program is the more likely it will
have "security issues"

Currently using NIS 2006 on our home network. It is a smooth running
application with no performance issues here.
