Hi,
I have downloaded the updates today and everything is working.
Although I had to allow new access to Mailwasher. The update included
a Core Update which required a re-start. I am using NIS 2007.

I forgot to mention that I'm running XP-Pro and IE-6, which is probably a
likely source of the bad interaction. What are you runing?

My NIS 2007 updated yesterday (with program updates and restart) and
appears ok. Running Win XP Media Center (superset of XP Pro?) SP1 with
IE 6. Net access ok as well as secure net access. Same for my wife's
Win XP Home SP1 with IE 6.

In both systems, however, I have to restart every several days to keep
live update working. Complains about missing file for administrative
rights after about a week. Restart fixes it. Been that way for all the
Norton stuff for a long time.

Probably. Most everyone else has uninstalled Symantec.

Funny that I've just put it back on a couple of machines where
ZoneAlarm had caused even bigger problems than I know I could get with
Nortons.....

Using Symantec IS 2003 and current update w/o problems. Win XPPro SP2.

You are a big exception. Wonder how you do it.

Hi,
XP Media Centre Edition 2005 which is in fact XP Pro with added
Media Centre. I am running IE7 but IE7 brings some of it's own
problems. You can't win with Microsoft !!.
For those in the thread who don't like Symantec I accept your opinion
but having used NIS and at first NAV going back many years on a range
of PC's from Windows 95 to XP and when you could safely surf the net
without a firewall I have never had a problem with the programs and I
have never had a Virus Infection and the programs have had no effect
on the speed of my system. I am quite happy with Symantec and have
never considered using another product.
