Sychronising between desktop and notebook using IR

R

Ramesh

HI,

I am able to logon from the notebook to the desktop with administrator
equivalent user. But what else do I need to do to network between the two
computers. I am not able to see each other computer in the Network Places
(both running XP Professional).

Could somebody help with the step by step procedure to use synchronisation
manager using IR to sync data between desktop and notebook?

Also the manual says After I enable Offline files, there will be a menu
option under files to Make offline. I do not get this even after enabling
offline files under Tools in both the systems. What could the problem be?

Thanks
Ramesh

I believe you first need to establish an IR network connection between the
two computers and then you can run Sync Manager

Google "establish a direct infrared network connection between computers"

Establish a direct infrared network connection between computers

Use Infrared Data Transfer to Connect Computers and Devices

How to synchronize desktop computers with Synchronization Manager

I've never set this up so I don't know about the menu option (or really much
of any of this :)

Hope it helps though.

thanks Jon.

I'm able to log on to the desktop after establishing IR connection. After
that, getting the sync working is the problem, more specifically setting up
Offline files.

Thanks
Ramesh
