Switching Users question

Basic question - I just got a new laptop, and when I go to switch users, I do
not get the option of either logging off or switching users. The only option
that pops up is log off?

How do I correct this situation.

See if this helps:

Go to Control Panel and double click User Accounts.
Under Pick a Task, click on "Change the way users log on or
off".
Make sure "Use the Welcome Screen" and "User Fast User
Switching" are both checked.
Hit the "Apply Options" button.
Go to Start -> Log Off and see if you get both options.
