John

I am about to switch to native mode. I am wondering if
there is anyone out there who had
1) a problem with Windows or with custome made
applications running on Pervasive SQL, SQL 2000 or
Exchange 5.5 after switching to native mode?
2) any problem with Novell 5 server. We have one Netware 5
server running an older version of Great Plains. All users
are running win2k and they logon to Novell server and use
that application. Anyone had a problem with accessing
Netware 5 server after switching to native mode?
3)Any problems after switching to native mode?

Thanks in advance

I am pretty sure that switching from Mixed Mode to Native
Mode will not cause you any problems.

The switch is not supposed to affect anything but the
ability of a WINNT 4 BDC to synchronize with WIN2000 AD.
In Mixed Mode that would work while in Native Mode it
would not.

Native Mode does give you some added functionality - like
the avialibility of Universal Groups and the ability to
nest groups. There are two or three others but, in my
opinion, those are the big two.

This question has been asked many, many, many times. Do a
search for this in this NG and you will certainly find
answers exactly like mine.

Cary

Native mode only affects NT4 BDC's. If you don't have any on your network,
go ahead and switch.

An answer to the Novell part of your question, no. There
will be no effect on your Novell logins.

Thanks very much to Cary, Matjaz and Bill.
