Switching From A Results View To Showing The Formula In A Cell ?

Hello,

I typed a formula into the bar, but rather than the result appearing in
the cell where it is supposed to,
the formula I typed appears there.

Is the likely reason that I somehow clicked on something that says show
the Formula, rather than the result ?

What is the key that switches from a formula view to a result view ?

Thanks,
Bob

try:
CTRL+#
or your cell is text formatted

Only if you see formulas in all cells that contain them.

Other possible explanations:

1. You forgot to type "=" initially. For example, A1+A2 should be =A1+A2.

2. The cell was formatted as Text before you entered your formula. In that
case, select the cell and change the cell format to General. But that's not
enough. You must also "edit" or "re-enter" the formula by pressing F2, then
Enter.

ctrl+` on my US English version. That is, press and hold Ctrl while you
press the "back-quote" key (aka "accent grave").
