I just got a new case to replace my old one. The first time i booted up
windows in the new case i accidently left the c drives power unplugged.
So when it booted it was telling me that my processor was unknown and
that i needed to enter the specs into the bios.

After plugging the c drive back in windows will boot normally but
windows now says my secondary hdd isnt formatted.

How can I recover the data from the secondary hdd?

Btw this is win 2000.

Its jumpered correctly?
PS are you booting from your non C drive? otherwise how did the sys boot
when C was disconnected

i set the jump to slave on the secondary drive. c is set to master. When
i right click on my computer and explore windows shows the hdd. However
when i click on the hdd it says hdd not formated would you like to
format now.

I just opened norton partition magic, when i go to properties on the d
drive its telling me (error#1602 file table backup mismatch.)

Any ideas?

You might try running chkdsk on this drive
But you still havent explained how you managed to boot up when C was
disconnected

When the c was unplugged it never booted all the way to windows. When i
plugged c back in it booted windows but now says my d drive is not
formatted.

Hope this makes sense.

OK, run chkdsk on the drive

Start>Help, and type - chkdsk - see overview
You can run it from the Command Prompt ( Start>Programs>Accessories)

Ok i ran it what exactly should i be looking for?

You might want to try a repost. With you guys alternately top and bottom
posting and repeatedly quoting *everything* that went before, I for one
have lost track.
