I am the Administrator with others using my PC having limited admi
authorisation. When logged on my profile i have sound which does not happen
when other users are logged under their profiles. This loss of sound applies
to any sort be it music or otherwise.
What could be the cause of loss of sound when others are logged on which i
do not have? I do not want anyone logged under my profile for security
reasons but would like to get sound working under their profiles. Can anyone
help please?

many thanks

Your problem will get more knowledgable attention in a space related to the
version of Windows you are running.

Offhand, I'd guess that you are running Windows XP.

I haven't had experience with the issue you are seeing, but what I would
suggest off the top of my head is to go to either the computer vendor or the
sound card vendor, and download the newest driver software for your version
of Windows. Do this logged in as yourself. Be sure, when installing, that
you choose to install it for all users, and not just for yourself, if such a
choice is given.

My thoughts are that perhaps the wrong choice was made in the initial
installation, or perhaps the vendors developers were not sufficiently aware
of the issues involved in running XP with multiple users some of whom are
not administrators--and with luck, a new install might correct either of
these.

This is pure guesswork, and may very well be entirely off the mark, so
please try a Windows operating system related forum.
