I'm curious.

How many of you are switching from VS.NET and c# to monodevelop and mono?

It seems like the low cost savings ( FREE ) and getting all functionality
with superior windowing widgets ( gtksharp ) making it very good to move?

Actually looking at mono .net. I have resarched it. I'm not convinced this
is exactly the way to go, but I'm sure it can't be that bad. I'm still in
the decision phase (currently using VB6) as to whether to go .net, java, or
stay with a 3GL such as C++.

GTK is very nice, as I have it running on some of my windows machines.

On windows - no way. If I want free on windows, I'll use SharpDevelop
(that is what there basing monodevelop on), and the framework sdk. Both
free. On Linux - that is a completely different matter :)

zero. Why not just switch to java?

..NET is also free. And you can write C# in emacs, eclipse, slickedit,
or sharpdevelop, etc.

Does gtksharp support docked panels like VS.NET?
