I hate to sound like a playa hata, since I had an almost flawless RC1
download, burn and install experience, but with no Mobile Sync and problems
getting my print server to work, can I boot up into XP by selecting the
"earlier version" at startup? Or will that uninstall Vista?

Thanks!

If you did a dual boot install, then that option will boot into XP (without
touching Vista) Although there was a bug in earlier builds that would put
Previous Version of Windows in the start menu, when it didn't actually exist.
Not sure if this has been resolved yet or not as I don't do upgrades.

Short answer - try it..the worst that should happen is you will boot to a
black screen, which means that this old bug is still there.

If you installed Vista to its own partition, then yes. You can rename the
entry on the boot options screen by editing the boot ini entry from within
XP.

I have been using the 'Earlier versions of Windows' dual-boot for half a
dozen builds and it works fine. Let's face it, some things just do not work
the same in Vista (until this build the Firewall Client would not install)
and I had to be able to keep working.

Bottom line: It works, have fun!

This will only change what you see once you're booting the XP partition.
BOOT.INI has no effect on what the Vista boot manager shows you.
