Swich printer between Mac mini and PC

My son sent me a Mac min so I could use it for full screen tele
conferancing with my grandson.
I have the KVM switch and a Linksys wireless broadband router so I can
share my DSL line.

What is left to share are the printer and the speakers. I stopped in
to a few stores this evening and a printer switch cost more than my
printer! Suggestions please.

Perhaps a print server? I've not had any experience with this, but it's
my understanding that you can put it the printer on the network, which
is already accessible to both machines.

What kind of printer connecrtion? The mac mini suggests USB, but you
can never be sure...
