SWF import, server time out

I'm using Frontpage 2000 w/2002 extensions on an XP Pro OS. I've recorded a
Powerpoint slideshow in SWF format (large 72M). It run OK in a stand-alone
player on my PC.

My first try was to FTP the file to a directory on the host outside the
Frontpage directories structure (peer to public where I store databases etc).
I thought I could set the hyperlink to the URL for an image on a HTML page in
FP. The problem is when clicking on the image an FTP login prompt popups up.
I tried turning on anonomous FTP on the host but that doesn't work (and I
don't really want this capability turned on).

The second mode was to import the SWF file into the localhost, set the
hyperlink to the file in FP, and then publish to the host (remote on ISP,
also with extension 2002). However after I select the file to import and
click on OK the following message -immediately- pops up:
"The server connection has timed out". This is an information (!) message
box and no additional info or options.

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Jim T.

Most hosts have a 1MB file upload limit set on FP
- and even it they reset it to over 72 MB, FP will always time out for uploads/publishing files of that size

In your FP site create a subweb named say: Media
(in your Local site and in your Online Site)
- it will be empty and do not include it when you publish
If you need to link to the media file add a small "dummy" swf file in that folder before converting it to a subweb
Then use a 3rd party ftp program to upload that 72 MB media file to that folder only
- FTP will corrupt the FP SE on that subweb, but not affect your root web
