Dear Microsoft, I love this product and need to report
that just in past week have been receiving Microsoft
Alerts that are not,I feel, from MS. When I open it to
read it, it will say "I am sorry but your message to
(e-mail address removed) could not be delivered, message below. Then
there is no message. I have sent NO messages to any of
these so-called addresses. Now I am almost afraid to open
anything from MS! Please inform me what this is and how I
may handle it? Thank you for your time. Sincerely,
Elizabeth Chapman (e-mail address removed)

MS will never send you anything unless it is a support
confirmation or help issue. Never attachments; only links
for patches, updates, etc. delete those imposter emails...

Dear Peter

A good start is to read this which explains you how to learn if an Email is
genuinely from MS or not:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/antivirus/authenticate_mail.asp

You get those email, because some spam bot found your address somewhere, for
example here, so it's a good thing to be very careful with your Email
Address and not to post it in Newsgroups. If you need to post it in
newsgroups. please use it and add NOSPAM to it, for example (e-mail address removed)
becomes in that case (e-mail address removed). Thus, people will still be able to
contact you in case they need.

If you are tired of those email, trace the IP and inform the respective ISP
that it can take action in order to stop the virus from propagating.

Hope this helps. Regards,

Fabio
