Hello!

Is there any way to swap the left and right speaker channels in Windows XP?
The volume and tone controls for my speakers are on the right speaker, but
my desk arrangement means the left speaker is easier to reach, so I would
like to swap the position of the speakers around. It's an nVidia nForce
board, if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

She knows that. But she wants the controls on the side where she has room to
reach them.

Sheila, it looks like your sound card does not have that function. You could
take the speakers to a repair shop and have then switch the wires as I did
on mine. Tell them what you want and they can fix it, it is a very easy
process.

Steve,

I might just buy a new pair, they were cheap ones anyway. Thank you so much
for your help.

You will probably have the same problem with the new ones, as most have the
same layout. You may have to rearrange things on your desk. Good luck!

So which part of physically swap speakers was hard to understand. Put the
one with the controls where you want it to be. If you can hear a difference
in the audio and it really bothers you that the violins are now on the right
versus the left then you have other issues that you need to deal with first.
None of the speakers I've ever purchased have a big "L" or "R" on them.

Music's not the problem, it's watching movies. It sounds daft when you hear
a voice off-screen to the left - then the character enters from the right!
The same with games.
