Swapping out the ugly icons?

Sorry if I'm cross-posting, not sure my last question made it out here...

Anyone know how to change the default explorer folder icon? To me not only
does it look ugly but it just looks "wrong", as if the folder is about to
fall down because of the cut-out on the bottom. Also a large percentage of
the icons across the system don't have the same style. It's as if the UI
team couldn't decide to go bland corporate, ultra showy (and ultra ugly)
photo realistic or iMac future-toon style. Personally I'd rather my icons
*not* look photo-realistic. It's just weird.

It's odd, in a way they are some of the best looking ugly icons I've seen.
Like a really great picture of something really bad.

Anyway, I'm sure some people love them and such is the way of opinions but
does anyone know how to change them? I'm thinking of swapping them for the
Crystal SVG set (http://everaldo.com/crystal.html).

Thanks,
Shawn

In theory you could, but it's not recommended during this stage of
development. A lot of work on icons are being done before Beta 2, so stick
with it for the time being :o) No doubt a third-party program will release a
skinning application for Vista within a few months of release :o)

All opinions expressed are those of myself unless stated so, and not of my
employer, best friend, Ghandi, my mother or my cat. Glad we cleared that up!

Classic.

That's a great one, and I've always had my own set, but too bad they won't
let you use .ICL icon libraries yet :( so I have ended up with lots of, of
all things, Wordpad?!? document icons -_-a
