"SWAPPING" D: and C: ...

Philippe PERON

Hello,

Here's the situation:
* Before
- 2 HDs of the same size
- French XP HOME installed on C:
- D: formatted but empty.
- Machine booting only on C:

* Now
- 2 HDs of the same size
- French XP HOME still installed on C:
- English XP HOME installed on D: (Ok I was tired, I've picked Up the
wrong partition)
- Machine booting on D: by default, but on C: as well if needed (Could
be a feature :)) ...
- All Programs and Data reinstalled on D:

==> I would like to avoid another complete reinstallation on the C:
drive.

Question (I'll try to be clear):
- Is there a way (easy or not) to "Swap" the 2 HDs, so that I can have
D: considered as C: and C: as D:? Then i can easily format the new D:,
remove the factory French XP HOME installation and anything else left.

If YES, should I expect a lot of troubles from the registry?
--> Can I replace all the "D:" occurences with "C:" with some kind of
tool?

Just in Case, I've got Norton Ghost 2003 if required.

Thanks,
Philippe.

No, have to reinstall, in Dos Windows Ontrack had a tool to change the drive
letters, the problems are many .,including MFT, ect, If your using more than
one drive, you unplug the one for storage, then C gets assigned to the boot
drive, and D or higher letter is assigned to the storage drive

I hope Windows Longhorn is not a bum steer, from all reprorts so far it will
crash as much as the rest of them do.
