Hello

I had a customer call and asked me what he should do with the COA sticker on
the back of the case if he purchased a new larger PC Case. I would be
swapping all his original components to the new case, but I have never had to
do this before so any help would be appreciated.

Thanx

As there has never been any legal test as to what constitutes a "new
computer", just swap it over....

Hi:

What do you mean?

From the first line of the document that you posted the link to:

Additionally, put a handwritten label with the product key information
onto the new case, probably best to put it inside the case and also to
protect it with a piece of clear tape.

After the transfer is complete and the system is running 100% okay in
the new case you need to obliterate the sticker on the old case before
you dispose or reuse it.

Good luck

I have used a razorblade and a heat gun to get the sticker off, applied it
to a piece of wide, clear tape, and taped it to the new case.

And in fact you don't even need to do that, as long as you have a record
of the licence somewhere...

Thanx Guys

All your input was very helpful. I think the idea of razor, heat gun, and
wide clear tape will work. The client gets his new case and the sticker
along with all the docs he still has.

Again thanks
