have a 2.6 p4 w/512 ram running win2k. hd is a seagate barracuda
IV. thinking about adding second hd strictly for swap file. second
hd would be 10gb seagate barracuda II. barracuda II is 66ata and
barracuda IV is 100ata. any possible down
sides to this configuration? the barracuda II has just been sitting
in a drawer for years and i thought i'd put it to use. :)

Pointless with that much physical ram. You shouldnt
be using the swap file much at all, in which case its
pointless dedicating a hard drive for the swap file.

Just that its waste of time.

All you'll achieve is waste some more power on it.
