"svchost.exe" is a legitimate Win XP file - "svrhost.exe", etc, are usually viruses.

Run your pre-installed anti-virus scanner.

Moses:

If it is truly spelled "svrhost.exe" it may be an infector.

Go to McAfee or Trend and perform an on-line scan of your PC ASAP.

Sites like these separate or combined can "help" you find if your infected with anything.

Others may post the URLs.

Is not the easiest way of determining whether you have a virus to
run updated antivirus software?

If you do not have antivirus software, you can get some for free at
http://www.grisoft.com

You should also consider installing a firewall with application blocking,
such as ZoneAlarm Basic, available free at http://www.zonelabs.com

Also ensure you are fully patched with all Critical Updates available
from Microsoft at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Good luck!
