hello, i have the same error it happens everytime you plug
in your connection either, 56k, lan,cable, etc. etc. d/c
your cable and all is fine. i have no idea what it is, but
i need to know. did you find out? please help

Yes, it is probably the same thing that's been happening all day today
and probably for a few more days - a worm which exploits the RPC DCOM
vulnerability has gone wild. Go here :

and download the appropriate patch for your machine.

In case you are infected with the worm (I had several cases today
where there was not an infection present, just an exploit of the
