My computer chokes up. so I check out the task manager, and every time it's
this svchost.exec taking 98% of my cpu power. I end that process
everything goes back to normal for a while. Plus, there are about 7 of these
thing runing. If i shut down the wrong one, it will shut off my system.
What is it, and can I get rid of it?

If what you wrote is true and not typing error then you are infected with
Worm called W32/Plesa-A

A description of Svchost.exe in Windows XP Professional Edition
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314056/en-us

Go through these cleaning steps:
1... Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:

Click on General Tab (1st Tab on the left) and you will see a Button called
[ Clear History ..] click on it to clear your History caches, then click on
[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.

= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one

Download Process Explorer.

For further information about Process Explorer see here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/SystemInformation/ProcessExplorer.mspx

It would be helpful if you could post the Command Line of the svchost
process generating the excessive CPU usage. In Process Explorer place
cursor on Process and select Properties, Image.

BTW it is svchost.exe not svchost.exec! File extensions are only three
characters not four.

Hope this helps.
