svchost.exe failure

Wow, I was just browsing here and the first post I see is
the exact same problem I've been experiencing the past
couple of days. I've loaded SP4 for Win2000 and all
critical patches as well. I hope someone can provide a
solution, because I'm baffled.

The solution is explained in many of the messages in this
newsgroup. Search for and read messages that contain 'svchost'
in the Subject.
