Good morning.
I am a technician for the Boeing Company in Ft. Walton
Beach, Florida dealing with the aftermath of the
msblast.exe worm. Our systems are running Windows 2000,
SP3, all hotfixes installed along with the virus software
being up to date.
Several users since the hotfixes were installed are
getting svchost.exe errors. These errors occur at random
times, do not affect everyone, but does cause an impact on
work. Each of these machines were checked and were clean
according to both McAfee and Norton tools, and are shown
as being fully patched according to the Microsoft tools.
Nevertheless, we continue to get svchost.exe errors on
these machines.
If anyone has a suggestion on what will correct this, I
would be appreciative. We're running out of suggestions
on what to do short of tearing down the machine and
rebuilding.
