svchost.exe - error, help!?

You´re caught by the blaster virus !

Install an anti-virus-tool (or make your current one up to
date) and scan your entire computer.
There´s also a removal tool on the most of the anti-virus-
company´s sites (symantec, network associates etc.)

His symptoms do sound typical but he says in his message that he's already
done all that. It could be that some traces of it have been left.

There are also a number of MSBlast. variants around, GD. Perhaps you have
caught one of them. go back to those AV sites eg
http://www.bitdefender.com/bd/site/virusinfo.php?menu_id=1&v_id=154
and look to see if there are any manual repairs you need to make. You will
see in the above site's Virus Info that there are quite a few MSBlast
variants.

You may have to run FixBlast more than once.

But suppose he really does have a real svchost.exe error? Does anyone know
if they exist and what can be done about it?
