Joining the long list of svchost.exe errors! However, have seen

it's a virus issue, to a problem with the Norton Anti-Virus to do a
repair off of cd. Any advice?

"I just resolved my issue by turning off automatic updates, reboot, then
manually going to windows updates and installing the updates, turing on
automatic updates, reboot."
I wonder why Microsoft dosn't know this ?

It seems that code has to do with some sort of Pentium program error
detection. I would assume that my machine failed to autoinstall an update
and this error was the result...please try and I hope this helps you out.

Thank you for this solution. My identical problem was triggered by the
Windows Automatic Security Update. Amazing how I am beginning to dread
Tuesdays to see what MS will do to screw up my day today. The next PC I'm
buying will be a MAC!
