I have been having the svchost problem (cpu usage rises to 100 percent
- virtually disabling my computer).

After disabling the "background intelligent transfer service" in
administrative services cpu dropped back to normal (first time in two
weeks!)

Now what?

Can I \ should I \ turn this off permenantly?

Wlll this disable other crucial processes?
Will this disable things like automatic updates and the computer being
a server for a LAN?

Thanks for any advice
