To see if you have SP2 right click on "My Computer" icon and click on
"Genersl" tab (if not already selected). Your operating system version
including any SP numbers should be shown there.

whats causing the changing of the toolbars,add-ons or pop-ups.i have no

Did you also install IE7?
If so, it will definately have a different layout than IE6

I have been running IE7 for months.all this happened within a couple of days.
its driving me nuts.

IE7 requires XP SP2, so if you've had IE7 for months then that's at least
the length of time you've had SP2. So it sounds like a recent install of SP2
can't be the cause of your problem.

To stop having to sign back in after your screensaver activates, go to
Control Panel > Display > Screen Saver tab and remove the tick from "On
resume, password protect".

I no longer have to sign in after the screen saver, for some reason this has
stopped as well.thanks for the help

Right click a blank spot on the desktop and choose Properties.
Under Screen Saver you can choose whether or not to display the Welcome
Screen when coming back from screen saver.
