Hi,

I use SUS to push out the patches and updates. On a
certain PC running Chinese (PRC) Windows 2000, after the
SP4 was installed and rebooted, there is an error message
at start up stating:

SYSEXPLR.EXE - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (oxc0000005).

Can someone pls help me on this. I need to know what's up
so that I can continue to patch our enterprise.

Thanks
Adam

I know this sounds silly but how did you get your clients
to connect to the sus server i am having problems i
followed the deplayment guide but to no avail i am using
a gpo with win2k sp4 and winxp sp2 machines but i cannot
get any of them to connect to my sus server can you help?

Hi,

Make sure all the clients have SP3 at least or are running
the Auto Updates client which you can get fromt the MS
Security - SUS website.

Then on the GPOs, make all the computers have the Auto
Updates Service run as Automatic (you change this on the
Computer Settings).

Then you import the Windows Update Admin Templaye from the
MS Website. MS has updated it for SUS. Then you put the
settings in there.

Hope this helps.

Adam
