BACKGROUP INFO:
I setup a SUS server, configured all of the parameters,
sync the server, setup a new OU on my DC, put only myself
and my computer in that OU, blocked Policy inheritance,
created a new GPO and setup the appropriate Group Policy
for the SUS settings. My workstation is W2K Pro, SP4. I
setup the GPO to apply the update at 4:00pm every day.
I'm not seeing anything but at 8:00am today when I came in
the office my system indicated it had an update that had
been downloaded from Microsoft that need applying. I'm
not sure if this came from the SUS server or from
MSupdate. I have no way of verifying this. I did note
that when I go to Windows update it points me to the
Microsoft site not the the SUS server I setup. I did a
registry search and did notice that under key
HKLM\software\policies\microsoft\windows\windowsupdate
that WUSERVER AND WUSTATUS SERVER are set to the name of
the SUS server I setup.
Question:
How can I confirm that the SUS process I setup is working
properly?
Thanks
