Hi guys,
I have the same problem too, but it might not other users will share their
tips with us
which I posted the same issue on 10/17.
I think I will take another work around by removing and reinstalling the IIS
server,
very simple installation, no modification, no URL scan no IIS lockdown
(which I never
run those), and try to install a very fresh SUS, let see what happens at
this time.
Below was my question for the group, but it has not been answerred by group
members,
I will keep you guys update for my work-around, think it might help you two
!!

SUS Server : Windows 2000
- IIS Server install
- SUS server install
Problem:
SUS Server side: stand-alone
- Why can every one go to SUSadmin to alter the approve update ?
- If I remove Anonymous on /Autoupdate, SUSAdmin, I think the update
client won't get any thing from the server because it requires
authentication.
But if we leave it anonymous, every one within intranet can curiously visit
the server web site and play around with the approve update !! Am I doing
something
wrong ?
SUS client side: Client logging on domain to work every day, default GPO
GPO on domain has not modified any thing yet !!
- Testing by local SUS client: (anonymous of SUS server site are
configured..)
- added template wuau.adm and configure approriate setting ,
- stopped and started auto update service: NO WORK AT ALL FOR UPDATING
- Work-around still don't get any better result
- what is exact address to configure wuau.adm to point to ?
http://servername ? or
http://servername/autoupdate ?
- None of them is working at all
- Testing by domain client : pending because the local SUS client is not
passed yet
how will the domain client be passing this point !!
AM I MISSING SOMETHING ? PLEASE HELP !!
Jake
