David

I have followed and setup a SUS server.
Have setup Group Policy to redirect to local intranet SUS
server. Clients are still connecting to internet for
Windows Updates.

What other steps do I need to do besides the ones in the
SUS Deployment White Papers???

Please advise.

If you enable the "remove access to use all windows update
features" under User Configuration, Administration
Templates, Windows Components, Windows Update....they will
be denied access at the site.

By enabling this policy, my clients will be able to
connect to my SUS server?? Is that what you are saying??

Thank you in advance for all your help.

Yes sorta..you setup the SUS server under "Specify
intranet Microsoft update service location" in Computer
Config, Administrative Templates, Windows Components,
Windows Updates. They will be getting their updates from
there after you approve them but they won't CONNECT to
it. You will schedule the updates from your SUS server.
Just add there computer to the group policy for SUS
updates.

I've already specified my local SUS server. I was just
having trouble getting the updates from it. Instead, I
was still connecting to the Microsoft site. Hopefully by
restricting access to the Microsoft site my clients will
be able to receive updates from my local SUS server.

Thank you for all your help.
