Hi,

I'm have Windows 2000 clients with a Win2k server running
Software Update Services which downloads all updates from
an MS repository. This setup largely works OK & clients
receive windows updates as they become available.

My problem is this: When we build new PCs, we want to
force SUS to spew out updates to the newly built machine.
Does anyone know how to do this without resorting to a CD
or downloading the updates all over again.

BTW - I've done a fair amount of research to find out
whether this is possible & I haven't found anything that
suggests it is yet, but perhaps if you've found the same
problem, you could post here too & somehow suggest it as a
future feature. Either that or we could put our experience
together & figure out a workaround?

Just a thought, but is it not possible to force the
updates throught the use of a GPO to a specific group of
computers such as "NEWPC" and just add the computer names
to the GPO as you build them. If I am correct you need to
be in a Win2K + environment (Native) in order to use the
GPO's
