Hi,
I just installed a SUS server and everything is running fine. Now I need to
configure the SUS clients which are Win2000 Pro machines. I read the SUS
deployment guide from MS site and they said I need to edit the registry and
force the clients to point to the SUS server. There's a part where I need
to add some registry key settings into the following locations:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
The problem is that these keys don't exist in the registry of the Win2000
Pro machines when I looked for them. Do I need to create them manually?
Has anyone done this?
Note: I'm not using Win2000 Active Directory group Policy to configure the
client to work with the SUS server. I just want to make them work without
using AD first.
TIA
