I am doing some testing with Microsoft Software Update Services to help
against further attacks like the MSBlaster worm. I have the server setup and
working fine, but when I try to install the client it says "Microsoft
Windows Auto Update requires Windows 2000 SP2 or Windows XP". I am running
Windows XP Pro, does anyone have any idea what is going wrong?

Thank you
Matt

You don't need the client. Xp already supports it. You just have to edit
the local policy of the machine or the group policy of the domain for the
clients to receive their updates from your update server.

If you already have Windows XP Service Pack 1, then the client is installed.
You don't need to install the client separately.

If you don't have SP1, then you need to install the client. The error
message isn't very clear about that.

Cheers
