I am having problems getting our machines to update using
Group Policy in Active Directory. I have gotten two
machines to work one time. I have tried putting the
machine and the user account in the OU with the policy but
it doesnt seem to work. I know the PC has the policy
changes because I have hidden the run box to be sure the
policy is there.

What am I doing wrong?

I am doing the same thing. I just tested out Group Policy
and it seems to work. I just selected Option 4 in the GPO
so that the updates will download and then install at the
selected install time. The next GPO settings has the
Windows SUS server in it (It has to be there in order for
this to work, did you miss that?) Then the third GPO
setting is set to reschedule 1 minute after system start
up. That way if any machines are off, when they turn on
they will update. I got the machines that were on to
update, but i'm just testing right now to see if they were
off if they will update once i turn them on.

Did you do all that?

Yes I have all Four options configured. The correct server
name is in the Policy and I have it set to run 1 minute
after startup. Do you have the computers in the OU with
your policy? I haven't tried to push the policy out to a
wide area yet just to one OU. I would think that I could
apply the policy to the user accounts and not have to move
all of my workstations in to diffrent OU's.

Ben, e-mail me at my work e-mail. take the _'s out and
put dots.
What I have is the computers i'm testing, I have them in a
OU, and the GPO is applied to that OU. So far it looks
good, but if I try that with some servers it won't work.
But desktops work. Very weird.
