surround sound

Hi, I have the SB Live! 5.1 and logitech x-530 speaker set, is there any way
to get surround out of these things. Please post any advice 'n Thanks

Thanks peter, I already knew the stuff he is writing about; like he says
it's a very simple install etc. I just can't get the surround on my system.

Inorder to hear surround it has to be recorded in surround.
What did you play that was not in surround??
