Dear M,

I want to add support on my computer for .vi files through Internet
Explorer. I have searched but I can't fine how to configure this in
internet explorer.

Does somebody know how to add such a extension (e.g. vi) and can
explain me how to do this?

Thanks in advantage

This link http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=VI

says that this file extension is for Jovian Logic VI Graphics. I don't think
IE will be able to render these files in the web browser (only gif, icon,
bmp, jpeg etc) but you could give it a try. The following procedure is for
file associations in Windows Explorer. Your graphics program that creates
the graphics files of this type should have already created the
associations.

This is the procedure on my Win2K machine.

Open Windows Explorer

Select the Tools>Folder Options Menu

Select the File Types tab

Click the New button to display the Create New Extension dialog

Click the Advanced button to display a drop-down list of Associated File
Types for your new file type

Enter 'vi' in the File Extension field

select the Associated File Type for your vi files (MIME)
