Stephen

Hi,

Further to my previous request comments are not the answer
to my problem since they are not I just want to insert a
superscript note/asterix in a number cell so I can refer
to this note in whatever text I write elsewhere.

The tables I work with have many numbers and I need a way
I can refer to these number.

Thanks,
stephen

Hi Stephen,

You could use a custom number format. This would add an asterisk to
positive values.
0"*";-0;0

You can also display superscript 1, 2 or 3.
To enter superscript 1 hold the ALT key and enter 0185 on the numeric
keypad.

for 2 use ALT+0178
for 3 use ALT+0179

This will still allow you to perform operations on the numbers.

Cheers
Andy

Are you trying to add a superscript character/number?

Highlight the entered character on the formula bar and then Format,
Font, Superscript and Enter.
