I recently picked up a USB camera but to my suprise the
driver suplied for windows Xp will not work. XP recognize
the device as a USB Mass Storage device. But it is a
camera as well as a webcam, the funny thing is it worked
only once as a webcam in both the software provided and in
MSN messenger. I have tried to contact the producer of the
chipset in the camera but only get excuses, and told that
I installed it wrong...any ideas anyone?

Same prob with the Sunplus SPCA533 driver XP Pro

I've just bought a Vivitar ViviCam 3720 from Argos which uses these same drivers. The video driver seems okay but the driver for the still camera function won't install. I have the feeling it's bewcause I have XP Pro rather than Home ?
It's really annoying, I've searched the web for any updated drivers etc to no avail so I'm going to return the camera to Argos. Your loss Vivitar on this one !
Cheers
Nick (sorry not being any help)

I don't know if your camera is the same as mine (which is labeled a Technaxx C1, but I suspect the hardware is the same). But, on this camera you are required to press a button (a pink one) on the camera to TOGGLE between mass storage device mode and camera mode. XP will recognize each mode as a separate unit.
The camera, when plugged into the usb port, will default to acting like a pc camera. Pressing the pink button (bottom right, with a play/pause symbol on it) will have it switch to a mass storage device. Pressing again will turn it back into acting like a camera.
For me, this works pretty well.
Hope this helps.
