Spent Sunday afternoon in Greenwich Park, on the loose premise of celebrating friend Gary's kid's 2nd birthday.

Gary runs a rehearsal/recording studio in Greenwich and invited along a few musical friends.

So we had plenty of mostly Cajun music with a rag tag pickup band led by Shakey Jake, accordion and flute player extraordinaire.

Weather was good, kids climbed trees, dogs ran wild, grown-ups got wasted.

All in all, a pleasant afternoon, here's a few pix:

Nope, none of me, but plenty of other pix of my ugly fizzog on this forum if you care to search ;)

Oh yes, zydeco music as well, plus Bob Marley done banjo style ;)

Thanks for replies :)

Looks like a right laugh :) I like the one with the people on the tree!

THE TREE PEOPLE reminds me of the live album of Neil Diamond "Hot August Night" in which he actually addressed the people who could not get the tickets had climed the trees outside the Greek Theatre where the concert was held in 1972 and he said that he was singing for them too. One of my faviourite live albums :)

Good pictures, I felt I was in the park :)

Great stuff ... 'snap the moment' ... :thumb:

hope you took all your litter home

:D

Looks like you had a fantastic time there flopp's....Piano accordian is a wicked instrument my auntie plays one she could never read music, but ask any request and she can pick up any song in ten seconds flat, thats always astounded me.....:thumb: Let the Good times Roll....:D

very nice pics flopps
u should have included one of yourself u git!

I particulary liked the view of the buildings!
that is quite amazing
whats the name of the park? is it just called Greenwich Park?
must come down and see it one day!

it has got a great view of those buildings!!!

Quad: I'm not a huge fan of Neil Diamond, gotta say, but Hot August Night is a favourite of mine, it really does capture the atmosphere. I was listening to that album around the time my first daughter was born and used to sing 'Song Sung Blue' to her to get her to sleep.

Unfortunately for the twins, I was listening to Guns & Roses 'Appetite For Destruction' at the time they were born, so they were serenaded with 'Sweet Child O Mine' (poor things) :D

Mucks: Of course I took my litter home, I'm all grown up and sensible now ;)

psd99: There's a few pix of me - and quite a few other members here - in the staff gallery. You can see me Here. Now stop that laughing :D

And yes, it's just called Greenwich park, one of the Royal Parks, it is. I have some more pix taken there giving a better view of those buildings and the river, I may post them here or in the gallery if you're interested.

All: Thanks for the comments :)
