Sum lines from a query

I have build a query that I use to pull [dateresolved],
[datesent],[handoff],[hold]. Now what I need to do is get
a total for the lines my query returned. I tried to
Total them but I get a Subquery error or a Expression
error. I am having the same problem with query that I
use to pull dates and dollar amounts where I need to add
all the dollar amounts for a total.I hope someone can
help.
