Suggestions

Also would like to have
1.) a minute timer
2.) fewer drop down menus (ie more direct buttons) for setting times
3.) World map with times & sunlight included
I don't like having to check out third party for this basic timing stuff.

Basic timing stuff is a personal preference without much interest from the general public or corporations. Why preclude an active market for third party developers - or would you like Microsoft to do everything for you.... Seems that they get in a lot of trouble for trying.

Oh, like locking down the Vista kernel with PatchGuard - yeah, we will wait and see how that turns out, okay?

1. journal has a timer. or were you looking for a countdown timer? if so,
how is that an outlook function? If you can make a strong business case for
it, Microsoft might consider it for a future version.

2. What is a direct button? why even use dropdowns? Just type the time. One
of the many tips and articles I've written about time and date shortcuts:

favorite features).

3. I can't see it happening within outlook- it requires too many
calculations as it varies with the person's exact lat and long. It's really
better suited to 3rd party tools. There are some icals you can import with
sunrise/sunset times, but they tend to push out other appointments in many
views. Outlook 2007 supports subscribing to icals and there are several free
calendars available that give sun and moon info and/or tide tables. You can
overlay these calendars on your default calendar so they aren't so
intrusive.
